Yesterday at CoderDojo one of our pupils Aisling learned how to make her own game.
Using the Scratch software, Aisling produced her own game. She called it ‘Underwater Maze’.
It took her about 5 classes to produce her own game. Pretty impressive or what?!

Some of our 4th & 6th class pupils attended a brilliant CoderDojo workshop in LIT Tipperary on Thursday. This workshop will continue every Thursday for the remainder of the school term.
Thurles Coder Dojo is a free computer coding club for young people. Depending on age, attendees will discover how to build computer games, phone apps, and websites.
The pupils who attended returned to school on Friday and were able to teach their classmates and their teacher how to make their own game using “code”! The next couple of weeks should be very exciting for those attending the classes. Who knows, maybe some of our pupils could go on to emulate the success of young app developer/entrepreneur Harry Moran. Thirteen year old Harry appeared on last night’s Late Late Show where he showcased the App he had built. Harry’s Game successfully made it to the coveted number 1 spot in the App Store.
