The Titanic

To coincide with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of The Titanic, our senior classes began work on class projects on the famous ship this morning. We found out some interesting things:

  • The Company that built the ship was called White Starline – Katie.
  • Only six people that were not in lifeboats survived in the water – Leah.
  • A man wrote a book about a ship called The Titan. In the story the ship hit an iceberg and not too many people survived because of a lack of lifeboats. This book was written fourteen years prior to The Titanic sinking – Jack.
  • The Titanic was built in Belfast – Caoimhe.
  • The Titanic commenced its voyage in Southampton – Sinéad.
  • It took two thousand people to build the ship – Augustine.
  • Two dogs were rescued – Chloe.
  • Approximately 1517 people died – Cormac.
