Pam & Ira arrived at 1.50p.m. First of all they told us what they work at and then they told us where they were from. Ira showed us his watch. It is made from parts of the Titanic. Lake Michigan makes up 20% of the world’s water. They have visited seven schools in Ireland. 2nd Class were telling them what they learned during their project on Spain. 4th and 6th class told them about their Titanic projects. Jack was telling them about the history of the school. Sinéad and Caoimhe told them about past principals. They really enjoyed learning about the past principals. Second class preformed one of their songs that they will sing for their First Holy Communion. The Senior Room sang Were You There. Cormac told them all about the G.A.A. Declan showed them his photo story on Noel McGrath. We taught them a bit of Irish! Katie and Eoin showed them their Animotos. Hannah showed them a dance. Hannah also taught Pam a bit of Irish Dancing! We finished with a game of hurling!!

Yesterday Deirdre from Dogs Trust visited the school. She brought in her dogs Cónán and Sadbh. We learned all about how to treat a dog properly. She told us that they rescue 16,000 dogs every year! They are also trying to build a Dogs Trust Centre in Cork.
I learned that they re-home over 1,000 dogs per year – Leah.
I learned that they are caring for 184 dogs at the moment-Cormac.
I learned that you should walk your dog twice a day-Declan.
I learned that bread is bad for dogs-Sinead.
Dogs trust is known as National Defence League -Caoimhe
I learned that they rescue 16000 dogs per year- Sarah
I learned that before the dogs go to Dogs Trust they go to the pound for 5 days so that the owners can collect the dogs. After 5 days the dogs go to Dogs Trust – Chloe.
Dogs Trust commenced in 2005-Augustine.
I learned that some human foods are poisonous for dogs -Hannah.
I learned that the dogs in the Dogs Trust come from the pound – Nicole.
I learned that they have an app called imutt – Eoin.
They take in 16,000 dogs a year – Aisling
I learned that Dogs Trust go to 3 or 4 schools a week-Brendan
They have 185 dogs in Dogs Trust -Ava
They have big yellow vans for collecting the dogs -Páraic
