Tipp Hurling Star Kieran Bergin Visits Dualla NS

Special thanks to Tipperary hurling star Kieran Bergin who visited the school today to do a coaching session with our senior hurling team.

He emphasised the importance of daily practice when addressing the children. Kieran also stressed practicing striking on both sides every time the children take to the field.

We also thank Michael Lahart who organised Kieran’s visit to the school.

Míle buíochas.

Waterford are Champions of Dualla N.S. Spring Hurling League

Our Spring Hurling League concluded today with the Main Final and 3rd/4th Place Final. Played out in near perfect conditions, the Waterford team led by Callum Lawrence emerged victorious in the Main Final. Player of the Tournament Páraic Brosnan captained the Runners Up Cork who gave a fine account of themselves all through the league.

The 3rd/4th Place Final saw Brendan Lawrence’s Limerick Team defeat a fine Tipperary Team who were captained by teak tough defender Eoin Power. Please God the Tipperary Hurlers will have more luck in Sunday’s League Final!!

Well done to all the boys and girls who played in the League. Our Medal Ceremony will take place in the next week or two and we will commence our Summer Hurling League next week.

Dualla NS & Golden NS Share The Spoils

Dualla NS & Golden NS renewed acquaintances in Dualla today for the second time in two months.

This Under 11 Hurling Challenge match was played in glorious sunshine as the two teams readied themselves for the Under 11 Championship which starts in a fortnight.

Dualla NS got off to a flying start with Callum Lawrence notching 1-1 in the space of a few minutes. He quickly followed this up with another goal when shooting low and hard to the right corner of the net.

Up front Eoin Moloughney was also very industrious in a productive opening half for Dualla.

Dualla led at the interval by three points. The second half saw Golden thundering into the game and soon they were scoring at will. Only for heroic goalkeeping by Pádraic Flanagan, the game would have been over.

Páraic Brosnan & Brendan Lawrence began to get the upper hand in midfield as the game approached its final minutes.

A few wonder strikes from star forward Callum Lawrence saved the day thus ensuring a share of the spoils for Dualla.

Special thanks to Golden for coming over to us for the game today.

Well done to all our players today.

Player of the Match: Páraic Brosnan.

The Dualla NS Squad was as follows: Pádraic Flanagan, Eoin Power, Páraic Brosnan (Joint Capt.), Callum Lawrence, Brendan Lawrence (Joint Capt.), Eoin Moloughney, Aisling Moloughney, Ava Ryan, Nicole Kennedy, Hannah Hughes, Anna McCan.

Good Victory For Senior Hurlers

Dualla NS atoned for their narrow defeat at the hands of Golden NS last week with a good victory over the same opponents today. The final score was Dualla NS 5-03 Golden 3-01. Both teams produced good team performances. Eoin M, Pádraic F and Páraic B were excellent for Dualla NS in what was a great performance from the entire squad. Our next game is against our neighbours Ballytarsna this Friday at 1:45pm.
