DUALLA NS JUNIOR ENTREPRENEUR MINI FUN DAY BY ANN MARIE DEVANE
On Sunday 6th April our 4th – 6th class pupils held a ‘Mini Fun Day’ on the school grounds from 12 noon to 3pm. This was part of the school’s Junior Entrepreneur Programme that they are participating in. A lot of hard work and organising had to be done prior to the day itself, shopping around for the best prices, sourcing raffle prizes and advertising the Fun Day to the wider community. All these new found skills paid off as the day was a great success and the lovely weather was an added bonus. There were a variety of stalls and activities including face-painting, a tuck shop, colouring competition, novelty races, tea/coffee, cake stall and gold fish stall. The students had full control of all the activities with minimal assistance from some adults. An incredible amount of money was made on raffle ticket sales which was a reflection on the superb prizes on offer. Overall the project was very educational and the students learned how to be part of a team, how to present an idea, develop it and put it into action. They deserve enormous praise and credit for achieving a profit of €1620.62. Sincere thanks to all the parents and local people for coming along on the day. Hopefully they enjoyed themselves and got to know one another in a pleasant social environment.
